Besides they can't fall out. that's a plus.

I can't say much about the transition, my son slept in our bed for months, and has slept in the same bed ever since (you could transform it into the toddler bed). We didn't buy the bed it was a gift (second hand), and when he was two years old we moved him into his own room and told him he had to stay there for sleeping. (Oh, and decoration? His room still looks like our living room minus the sofa plus his bed and a few toys. He doesn't mind.)

Maybe you could find something used? Just buy a new mattress.Susannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14220769941216066968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31817632.post-56122205857532633032007-09-02T11:57:00.000-04:002007-09-02T11:57:00.000-04:00Yeah, I'm hoping for another girl, too. My bank book has suffered the (as I call it) having-a-daughter fate.

As for the beds... I love the Ikea bed. I'm really partial to white furniture for kids. Also, I'm pretty sure Ikea sells under bed storage.

Of course, these could be both moot points, as you could have a second boy, and you could have a bedroom stuffed with 4 people in a few short months ;)b*babblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17494191160073990465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31817632.post-67697402059953834312007-08-30T03:51:00.000-04:002007-08-30T03:51:00.000-04:00We went with an Ikea junior bed for MF, and he LOV...We went with an Ikea junior bed for MF, and he LOVES it (the red Kritter bed, with the cat and dog headboard). For storage, we bought a couple of Ikea plastic folding underbed boxes that work beautifully. In a few years, we'll move him up to a bigger bed.

I hear you on the clothes thing. So go with the Sears one!

I'm thinking about my two-are-better-than-one arguments. The basic one: if your first baby was easygoing, highly portable, never required much in the way of attention or entertainment, then you'll probably find having two to be quite a bit harder. In MY case, however, I spent most of the Pie's infancy saying, "I can't believe how easy this is!" Because she just liked to watch her brother.
