I Heart Motherbumper!

Have you seen the new widget on my sidebar?? It's wicked awesome. Motherbumper made it for me to have a cool way to update readers on any new post of mine over at MBT. It's also pretty frakin' amazing that she made in the midst of sleep deprivation. She rocks. I wish I had half her talent.

Yes, in case you're wondering, it is February 14th and I'm posting about my lovin' for a fellow bloggy friend. Valentine's Day has been kind of sucky so far. After making 20 pretty neat (even if I do say so myself) Valentine's presents for the Boy's daycare friends, I got to the daycare Monday morning, only to find a note in his cubby stating that I need 36 presents, not 20 (due to the part-timers). Half the crafty stuff for the presents had been bought weeks ago, and were now sold out. So I spent the better part of this winter-forsaken-wonderland running around town trying to find substitutes.

As I was making these 16 extra Valentines last night, Mr Earth turns to me and asks "Do you want me to buy you something for Valentine's Day?" Ah, can you feel the love? Ten years in and we still have the spark.

Have I mentioned how much I hate winter yet? The car got stuck this morning - half in traffic and half out. Thank god my neighbour was there to help dig me out. It also got stuck as I was trying to park it again. More digging. More fun! Between that, being trapped in the house more days than I would like due to the snowy snow and the windy wind, almost having a car accident eventhough I was driving 20km per hour, and people who don't shovel their sidewalks, I'm pretty much done with winter. It can go now, thank you.

But just to prove that I do still believe in happy endings, check out the Boy's love story below:

Really? 36 handmade Valentine cards? Am I glad we don't celebrate that over here. But you certainly deserve a present. And those pictures make my herat melt into a puddle.

Your boys are too sweet.

And I heart Motherbumper, too.

Oh, sweet little boys.
The correct answer to "do you want me to buy you a present?" is always to run upstairs crying. That'll learn him.

A so-very-sweet love story it is, too

Happy VDay. :-)

OMG that is the BEST post title EVER (if I say so myself ;). I *heart* Nomotherearth (big grin).

Those pictures are so darn cute and you can't tell at all that someone on the sidelines is saying "Smile and kiss your brother ALREADY!". I kid, I kid, it's super cute.

Woah, 36 handmade things - I'm so going to be the sucky mom when B starts nursery.

Aw, what a pair of cuties.

And the weather, and the digging, and the getting stuck and the being stuck in the house. Yup, I'm through. And I'm starting to seriously fall out of love with my city right now. Have you tried to drive on St. Clair? My entire car could get lost in some of the potholes.

Seriously!

God, I hear you. I love motherbumper, too. and the widget she made for me rocks, as well. She's so awesome.

And also about the f&$%!#@ snow, already. Spring? Any time, now, honey, move right in. The water is not so warm, but you could change that. So ready to wear cute shoes and skirts, even if it means shaving my legs. And I have serious hate on for the non-shovelers, too. I even have Pumpkinpie saying they are RUDE. Heh. That'll learn 'em.

At least hearts will be warm with those sweet pictures...

Motherbumper, those pictures were SO directed. I was hoping that people would notice the extreme look of disgust the Boy has in the first two when I asked him repeatedly to give the baby a Valentine's kiss.

Please. Don't. Even. Get. Me. Started. On. Winter.

My car started sliding downhill today as I was driving upwards. We had a half snow day yesterday and a half snow day today which means all the work of getting to work, all the work waiting at work, twice the childcare, a kid completely baffled by the apparent lack of routine, no ability to get out of the house to buy groceries, shoveling, more shoveling, shoveling in the rain while lifting shovelfuls of wet, back-breaking snow, having a car frozen in situ b/c a big ass puddle froze....

As I say, don't even get me started.

I stayed up way too late last night working on Valentines goodie bags. Wait until both those handsome boys are giving out the February love. I made 60 and I wanted a hero cookie or something.

I'd rather be stuck in a gooey geyser than another snow bank.

Let the record show that NoMo received the following:

1. Godiva Chocolates
2. Starbucks card
3. Second Cup card

Although I *may* ask inappropriate questions, I usually come through in the end.

I don't understand the whole gifts at daycare thing. Cakes keeps getting these goody bags when it's someone ELSE's birthday. WTF? And Valentines gifts? We didn't do those--someone did give out cinnamon hearts to the toddlers and I thought that was just stupid.

That's sweet!

36 Valentines - are you serious?! They actually expect you to make sure there's one for every kid? For some reason that's weird to me. What happens if you just don't bring ANY!?? The Valentine's police come hunting?
